Back to basics

I haven't made any New Year's resolutions for several years. Didn't do any this year either. But.. I read an article few days ago about a man who tries new things on daily basis for one thing and one month at a time and throughout the year. I thought that I'd give that a try. Not necessarily with only new things though. My idea is to create myself some me-time and revive old hobbies as well, do the things I love the most. I haven't decided yet my plans/targets for each and every month but I have a general idea of the things I'd like to try.

First of all, my plan for February is to take upon a challenge of taking photo-a-day. I'll publish those photos on my pictures-site (I'll tell the link to you later on.) and probably write a few lines to it as well. Maybe just a short reason why that photo moves me or what made me take it. Something like that.

My plans involve things like listening to music (new song or album a day), drawing, writing, reading, getting outdoors and so on. Nothing too difficult. And maybe some of those things become a habit after doing them on daily basis for a month. And some I might even continue after that month for a certain time if it feels good, like that photo-a-day: I might be taking photo-a-day for a year. And if some thing becomes a burden, I'll just stop doing it after a month. Or do it once a week instead.

Feel free to steal the idea. :) And if you do, I'd like to hear what kind of things you've been doing.

For Me It's You

"..Everybody got something that they want to sing about, laugh about, cry about
It's true
For me it's you.." (Train: For Me It's You)

When in love and happy, I want to scream it out loud and share it to the world. When sad or angry I tend to close myself in silence and pout. And writing everything down is my therapy. Whether it's on facebook, blogspot or whatever. That's natural to me, it's who I am. And the difficulty is that The One is just the opposite. He appreciates his privacy more than anything else. And he wants me to appreciate his privacy too. And I try to. But sometimes it's hard to control myself. And he should appreciate that equally as well. Because it's how I work. And besides, as the Staind song Everything Changes states: "..I am the mess you chose, the closet you cannot close.."

House-warming party: part 1

One of the best things about moving to a new place is that you'll get an excellent excuse to have a party with your friends. And since our place is not that big, I'll have two times the fun. And because it was a house-warming party, I got some presents as well. Here's some pictures of them.

The first on is a bag for champagne bottle (or any other wine bottle). My long-term friend Adelheid made it after we saw one at the first of May -happening. And a bottle of sparkling strawberry wine came along with the bag. :) I also got this picker so I can go and get those blueberries and/or lingonberries with speed. Although I prefer berry picking with hands, this was a nice evidence that some men are actually quite good listeners.

And another bottle, Fisu. For those outside Finland who may not know this shot, it is made of Fisherman's Friend and vodka. And I got flowers too, roses to be exact. Can't really remember when was the last time I had flowers at home. And even harder it is to remember when was the last time I had flowers that I hadn't bought myself.

The first house-warming party was on Saturday 20th. The plan was to serve some punch with something to bite. Unfortunately I forgot all about my camera because I had so much fun, so there's no pictures about the party food or the party people. After sitting and talking about one and a million topics we headed out to a near-by bar for a gig, where my better half was playing acoustic with his friends. I met some old friends there and got a few new ones. A lot of laughing and dancing and sing-along. We did continue to another bar but I didn't stay long. I went home to bed, he came home later, after picking up a kebab roll with him home.

Happy face

I think I've got the best room mates ever. After Steven Tyler moved in with me (in a form of his book), I've gotten three more room mates.. Let me introduce you two of them with pictures, Brian Johnson and Tony Iommi:

My third room mate isn't that keen to presenting himself in public. But let me tell you, he is a room mate in flesh and blood, The One. And maybe not so surprising to people who know my taste in men, he's a musician, with long hair, of course. ;) We had our first year anniversary in April and moving in was his suggestion. And since I've practically lived there already at least ten months the decision wasn't too hard for me to do. Besides, there's no sense paying rent for two different apartments. But the suggestion kinda took me by surprise - I thought he was light-years away from that point. But it was definitely a happy surprise.

I also started a new job in the beginning of April as a office assistant. So there's a big sigh of relief what comes to financial side of life.

So.. life is good. For now (knocking on wood). And I'm happy.
